There are thousands of types of energy, in the world and two of them are, KE (kinetic energy) and GPE (gravitational potential energy). KE is energy of motion. GPE is energy due to position of an object that is about to fall or can go downhill. One example of KE is when you're walking or running. Another example is throwing a frisbee and finally an icicle falling to the ground. One example of GPE is holding a ball and watching it fall to the ground. Another example is a wrecking ball droping into a building and finally stretching a bow and arrow to hit a target. There is an equal amount of both GPE and KE in the world because the energy of an objects position will convert to KE only when an object is released. GPE and KE need to exist in the world equaly to create balance.
